Add some interesting effects to the Scratch game

Introduction

In this lesson children will begin to make their code more complex by adding some special effects. Open up the game and demonstrate how to change the code to add sound effects and speech bubbles.

Begin by showing how to add a sound effect by dragging the “play drum” code from the sound blocks into the code for one of the sprites:

Ask the children if anyone can you show you how to make the main sprite say “Yippee!” when he collects one of the objects. The code should then be changed again to look like below:
